In the 1980's and 90's Chicago was known for music with out much structure. It was simply tittled Acid house. The tempo would stay in the 120 Bpm range. Back then We had fast 808 drums with snares,Claps, high hats ,a baseline and a teeked out sound on top. Dj's would often put other music or acapellas on top of it to give it a different feeling or sound. Some dj's and music lovers refered to it as riding the beat or blending. That later turned into Hip House when a Rapper's Like Fast Eddie, Jungle brothers ,Queen Latifah & Tribe Called Quest would rap on these beats. If someone sung on these ast beats, it would be considered by most Not truly soul or RnB, it would fall into a club house party Rap music genre. In the late 1990's up till now This music has now evolved to Juke, Ghetto House, crunk, party rap & global house. If you are from Chicago in the 70's you seen the acid track style of music evolve from Disco music very fast up tempo soulful music. In the Mid 1980's A company called Trax records would press up Limited releases like "No Way Back" by Adonis, Larry Heard's "Can You Feel It," and the first so-called house anthem in 1986, "Move Your Body" by Marshall Jefferson. This gave a massive boost to house music, extending recognition of the genre outside of Chicago. Chicago even had a radio station called wbmx that would have thee dj's play sets on friday & saturday nights. Other compies Like Dj International,Alleviated, Diamond corp started presing up releases to make the movement grow even stronger. With dj's like Ron Hardy, frankie Knuckes, Lil Louis ( who had his own record company call dimond corp and sold his music himself ) , Maurice Joshua, Farley Keith AKA Farley Jackmaster Funk continued moving around in the international club sceene out side Chicago record companys like trax records, Founded by Larry Sherman, owner and founder of Trax Records was able to make history since he bought the Acid tracks direct from dj's as cheap as $100 bucks for the master and released them in very limited pressings at a wholsale rate as much as $4 bucks or dubbed on reel to reels tapes. They where able to all eat of of this gutter style record company. The dj's got more promotion and better paying jobs if there tracks where played by more dj's. The company was able to keep over head down and expand there roster of talent. Untill the Major lables got in on the action and started giving dj's more pay for there songs. Some of these Dj's went got major record deals On Atlantic, Epic and Sony.It then took off in the Major way but was watered down to a main stream format. Then came your Paula Abduls, Mili Vanilli & Tone Loc's shortly after. The masses got board with it moved in a different direction with slower rap music and down tempo RNB. This style of music became seprate yet un-equal in the states. But Europe, Russia, France and Canda still embrace this fast tempo music to this day.This show is a rewind to the era of Acid House. Mixed by djelove from chiradio.com (who was just a small child back then listening to these dj's ) in Vinyl Format on starting off with an orginal beat & using 4 tuntables just like they did it in the early days.
